Terms of Use

Welcome to Back Channel. These Terms explain what you can expect from us — and what we expect from you. They're short, fair, and written for real humans.

1. Who Can Use Back Channel

You must be 13 or older. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission. We check age during signup and block accounts that don't qualify.

2. One Account, One Person

Only one account per person. No bots. No burner accounts. No impersonation. We check for duplicates using device and IP data.

3. What's Not Allowed

• No hate speech or harassment
• No misinformation or manipulation
• No porn, gore, or exploitative content
• No spam, bots, or scripted behavior

If you break these, we'll warn or suspend you. Repeat offenders get banned.

4. Your Voice, Your Responsibility

You own what you post — but you're responsible for it. If something causes harm or violates the law, we may remove it and suspend your account.

5. Transparency

You'll see the rules, warnings, and decisions that affect your account. We log moderation actions and show them in your account settings.

6. Terms Acceptance

You must accept these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and the EULA before using the app. If anything changes, we'll show you clearly in the app and ask for your agreement again.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that break the rules. You'll get a reason, and in most cases, a chance to appeal.

8. No Guarantees

Back Channel is offered "as is." We do our best, but we don't guarantee uptime, availability, or that every post will be moderated perfectly.

9. Legal Stuff

These Terms follow the laws of California. Legal disputes go to courts in Los Angeles County.
